2122 – Jochanan and his parents live in a futuristic and dystopian society, where mankind has only survived thanks to technological means but lives without the freedom and comforts of our current world. The only way to escape temporarily this dreary environment for the privileged is to time travel and go back to the past, when it was still possible to see live animals, feel the wind, experience nature and freedom. During one of those travels, ten year old Jochanan is separated from his family and finds himself stranded in Eastern Germany in 2031. With new friends and brothers Merlin and Michael and illegal immigrant Akascha at his side, he has to reach Berlin and the Brandenurger Tor, where a time gate will open at midnight in four days, and should lead him back into the future. Trying to avoid being uncovered and followed by ambitious scientist Dr. Paulus, who is obsessed by the idea of catching a time traveller, will he make it home?
