Thea Lu is a picture book maker and illustrator, living in Shanghai. Growing up in a small city in China by the sea, she spent most of her childhood playing on the wild beach and the salty water. So when stepping into the drawing world, she naturally carried on this playful spirit: to experiment, to risk new opportunities and wait for the magic happen. Non-fiction books, concept books and interactive novelty book are her favorite genres. Besides she is also working as a product experience designer, especially interested in projects for kids. She studied an MA in Children’s Book Illustration in Cambridge School of Art, UK and previous to that, product design and research. Her work is published in the US, France, Korea, Russia & China.
